YF at Mooney's Bay this Friday (with families)
Last night, Shell and I were invited to a community appreciation banquet to rep you guys! In addition to lots of free food *wink*, we were also in the company of Members of Provincial Parliament (or MPP's) and many big players in the city/community who were impressed that Christian youth were taking opportunities to serve the community. Even small acts like re-creating that garden and mowing lawns in the community are really appreciated by people here. It just goes to show that it doesn't take much to be a witness in our community. Awesome job everyone! Thanks to everyone that came out in spite of exams to support the Relay for Life last week, thanks for everyone praying together for the families and victims of cancer.This Friday we are meeting at Mooney's Bay at 4pm on Friday until 9pm in cooperation with the English congregation, so bring your Bibles, frisbees, volleyballs, baseball gloves, footballs, sunscreen, guitars (whatever you want to bring) etc. Since the time overlaps with dinner, bring your own hotdogs, marshmellows etc too! Come by yourself, with a friend or with your family :) Take a break from exams or celebrate being done with us.
Also, by God's grace, the church really responded to the Ouje fundraiser!!! There is less than two weeks until we leave to Ouje, so please keep praying and preparing for our trip. Lots of families were really encouraged by your attitude in serving the food and it was awesome that EVEN the youth who were not going to Ouje this year still helped out the family for those who ARE going. Many props for that YF supporters, you are part of our trip too.
