worship and discussion

please bring your fall retreat forms to me as we gather tomorrow night. so far after emailing about and posting the form two weeks ago - i have natasha's form. i know alot of you said you would go - so i need your help here.

tomorrow night, jeremy (and company) has kindly volunteered to lead us in a short time of worship, then we will have a time of sharing and discussion about what you want to see happen in YF. i hope to talk about the reasons you want certain events, leadership teams and whether you would want extra lessons, small groups... anything goes. you can even tell me that you never want to see me again... it's all good! then if time permits, bring whatever game you would like to play (cough*likemonopoly*achoo) and we can have some fun. so blessings and see you tomorrow night! with your forms completed and cheque attached of course.

discipleship week and this friday

thank you for your help today at shepherds of good hope. ann said that your work was a blessing to them, and it was a blessing to be able to serve in that way. if you are interested in helping again (or on a regular basis), the volunteer page has more information. it was a blessing to have this opportunity to serve our neighbor and our very own community. thank you for all of you who have been here for discipleship week, your homework has been very honest thus far and i expect you to faithfully hand in your assignments for thursday as well!

pastor cal and michelle have kindly volunteered the use of their house for the last day of discipleship week combined with the yf program. we will meet there at 9:15am [detailed map] and stay afterwards for the barbeque for the grads (noon). yf will be moved to the noon to combine with disciplship week. i still need you guys to complete the fall youth retreat registration form (still haven't received any!). blessings, i'll see many of you tomorrow as discipleship week continues.

ps. yf's very own corey toye has posted a sneak peek at his progress on ccco's future website here.

discipleship week details

this week is vbs/day camp graduation on the schedule, but i just spent time conversing with james about planning something for this friday for those who are not helping with vbs. he will email you details regarding that.

if you are attending discipleship week, there will be an outing to shepherds of good hope [detailed directions], if you are under 18 you will need to have your parent/guardian sign this form - [download letter to parents] and return it to me when you arrive at discipleship week. please make sure to bring your Bible and writing utensils each day for discipleship week.

as mentioned before (and like last year) please treat this seriously, faithfully attending each class, opportunities to serve and completing the homework activities each day. the discipleship week post

the heat is on

hey girls and boys, thanks for sending me all the e-mails and your wishes to jesse and heidi, it was a beautiful wedding, i may have cried a little. thanks for your behavior on friday's Bible study, word is that it was good ;) props! schedule change as mentioned. there will still be volleyball but it will be against our beloved brothers and sisters of h2o on august 12th (saturday)! this will be a joint yf and h2o activity! i've booked the courts already for the 12th, it will be at britannia beach 2805 Carling Ave [detailed directions] beginning at 12:00 noon until 5pm. bring lunch and maybe two to three dollars for net rentals. the water quality of britannia beach is by far the best in ottawa and is the only one deemed safe right now, with levels of 37 E. coli, as opposed to the 1000 E. coli at petrie island.

oh, and i've emailed you all about worship schedule changes for discipleship week and the pictures for andrew haydon park have been uploaded, pictures courtesy of james szeto. blessings to you all!
