YF serving with Fall Fest this Friday!

thanks for putting up with my not-so-short devotion last friday! haha but it was important to follow-up the retreat with that passage :) luke 11:37-46 for those of you who were unable to make it last friday. remember to love your samaritans and be open to God working through you this week. we also had a good laugh in sunday school this week as the group was almost too good at knowing the wrong things to say as we were introduced to job's friends in job 2:11-13.

this friday, we will be joining pure energy in serving the AWANA children with our halloween alternative - fall festival. many of you have signed up to help in various areas, sue will also be contacting you about what time to arrive and more details on how each person will help! shelly and i want to personally thank all of you who personally offered to help us move! we are really honored by your desire to help us, but we'd like to encourage you to help with fall fest! :) we'll invite you to our home soon enough. or maybe find some way you can help hehe jk. sue and i would be glad to give you some community service hours for helping out this friday as well. that same evening is our closing date on the home, so please be nice to james, brad and rae-anne in our absence. join us for sunday school and have fun at fall fest on friday!

YF short devotion and games night this Friday!

from the depths of my heart i want to thank you for an amazing YF retreat last weekend, it was truly an unforgettable experience that shelly and i talked about all sunday and yesterday :). we really love all of you and were privileged to share that weekend with all of you... yes, even thankful for the cold part of it. please remember everything you learned! KNOW Jesus! keep the 'Samaritans' list and the greatest need that you've listed and need to be open to God's desires for what role you have to play in it. we may even follow that up this week :) shelly and i will keep praying for you that you would know Him more as you made that desire known this weekend. we are really thankful that YF is so awesome, we really love you all!

this week, we'll have a short time of devotion (i have a passage of Scripture i really want to share with you guys) then followed by a time to finally get a little more use of the youth room! please bring your cards, hot chocolate, wii games and friends to have a great time this friday!! in addition there is a missions conference at our church on saturday night that i'll be attending, and there is also the gathering at scotiabank place that shelly may be going to (with friends too!) and we'll continue our study in Job on sunday morning.

if you want to talk more, have a tea/coffee/lunch with shelly or i (or both of us!) let us know. we are open for you to talk too! the other leaders are willing to talk to you too (i think) hhehe :)
see you friday!

YF Baptisms and Gatineau Hike this Sunday

last friday was an amazing discussion on anger, i was also very encouraged that you invited friends and welcome you if it was your first time joining us! thanks for a great experience on friday and for sunday school!

as mentioned in the announcements, there is no awana, pure energy or YF this friday, but all of you (and your families) are welcome to join h2o for the annual gatineau hike! it will take at luskville falls and maps will be provided. we plan to leave the fellowship lunch this sunday (also two of our own will be baptized!) :) and we plan to come back around 5pm or shortly after. if you OR your family is interested - please let me know ASAP so we can arrange for rides.

speaking of rides - FALL RETREAT forms are due this week! please get your forms in to me during this week or this sunday (12th at the latest, the retreat is coming fast 17-19). also if your parents are willing to provide transportation, please let me know how many spaces you have in your car. if you are a leader for the retreat, please remember to get together with your partners (perhaps this friday's usual time is a good time to meet).

see you this sunday!
