YF Bible study this Friday (26th)

Thanks for coming out to Mooney's Bay last week to enjoy the sun, share some devotions and enjoy each other's company last Friday! I'm really encouraged with how comfortable everyone feels together! It's pretty awesome!

This Friday (26th 7:30pm) is our last YF before the mission trip to Ouje! We will be having Bible studies presented by our own mission team, so please bring your Bibles and some refreshments if you can. We'll try to have our study outside in the backyard of 118 Empress if it's still sunny out :) (Maybe we can take a nice springtime group picture too)

Next week (July 3rd) there will be no official YF meeting while we are on the mission trip, but we encourage you to use this time to hang out and fellowship with each other (go to houses, movies, bbtea etc.).

Tomorrow night (24th), we are gathering at 7:30pm at church as a mission team to pray (parents are invited to) for our trip. The YF family is totally invited to pray with us for the trip. There will be brothers and sisters that are not going on the trip that will be praying with us as well, so we would love for you to come and pray with us!

There are so many things coming up as well so keep track of these dates! Definitely commit to coming to Discipleship Week as it's always an amazing week in the summer of learning, discipleship and fellowship. * Jun 28 - July 4 YF Ouje-Bougoumou Mission Trip! * Jul 24-26 YF h2o camping trip * Aug 17-21 YF Discipleship week: Reading and Living God's Word. * Sep 11-13 YF Fall Retreat

Let us know how you are doing, we are pray for you as a C&Y core group regularly and the adult leaders no doubt remember you in our prayers! Let us know how we can pray for you or if you want to meet up and we'll make it work!

See you all on Friday!

YF at Mooney's Bay this Friday (with families)

Last night, Shell and I were invited to a community appreciation banquet to rep you guys! In addition to lots of free food *wink*, we were also in the company of Members of Provincial Parliament (or MPP's) and many big players in the city/community who were impressed that Christian youth were taking opportunities to serve the community. Even small acts like re-creating that garden and mowing lawns in the community are really appreciated by people here. It just goes to show that it doesn't take much to be a witness in our community. Awesome job everyone! Thanks to everyone that came out in spite of exams to support the Relay for Life last week, thanks for everyone praying together for the families and victims of cancer.

This Friday we are meeting at Mooney's Bay at 4pm on Friday until 9pm in cooperation with the English congregation, so bring your Bibles, frisbees, volleyballs, baseball gloves, footballs, sunscreen, guitars (whatever you want to bring) etc. Since the time overlaps with dinner, bring your own hotdogs, marshmellows etc too! Come by yourself, with a friend or with your family :) Take a break from exams or celebrate being done with us.

Also, by God's grace, the church really responded to the Ouje fundraiser!!! There is less than two weeks until we leave to Ouje, so please keep praying and preparing for our trip. Lots of families were really encouraged by your attitude in serving the food and it was awesome that EVEN the youth who were not going to Ouje this year still helped out the family for those who ARE going. Many props for that YF supporters, you are part of our trip too.

Let us know how you are doing so we can pray for you (your exams, or likely more important things than exams) or meet up.
We love you guys!
See you Friday!

Mark off your entire weekends for these (longer than Friday events):

* Jun 28 - July 4 YF Ouje-Bougoumou Mission Trip!
* Jul 24-26 YF h2o camping trip
* Aug 17-21 YF Discipleship week: Reading and Living God's Word.
* Sep 11-13 YF Fall Retreat

YF at Relay for Life this Friday (Nepean Sportsplex)

We appreciate everyone that took time out of the busy exam season to pray for the families in the church. I've already received a letter from a family that was really encouraged that you dropped by to pray for them! Big thanks to all the drivers too! There are many who mentioned they were encouraged on Sunday as well about the prayer, your prayer goes a long way toward building up the families in the church. Also... thanks so much to everyone during the Ouje fundraiser yesterday, it was cool to see all us youth serving the adults/seniors in our congregation. Hope that can continue :) The adults also gave lots of financial support and will commit to praying for our trip as well! I haven't received the final number but I know that God has given through many of the families here!

This Friday, we want to continue our support of the Relay for Life at the Nepean Sportsplex. As you know, many of the families in our church have been impacted by cancer, Jeff, who is in our YF fam and the Ling family lost their Mother to cancer. Please come to the Nepean Sportsplex (in the football field) (directions) at 7:30pm, you can arrive as early as 7:00pm and leave at whatever time you desire (the Lings and some families stay overnight). Even your presence will show your support. If you wish, uncle Eric is raising support and you can make a donation in your name or anonymously. As Bible study was originally scheduled, we can take this opportunity to have one outside, so bring your Bibles and we will learn from some of the devotions the teens have prepared for Ouje this summer.

YF Grads: The Grad CD team needs your help in making it possible - they need your baby pictures, family and grad pics as soon as possible (like yesterday!). Please e-mail them to the address that I sent you.

Keep praying (and if you are on the team, preparing) for our Ouje trip at the end of this month! Give us updates on what we can pray for or if you want to meet up next week.

YF Drive-by Prayer this Friday at 7pm

Thanks for coming out on Saturday and braving the potential rain as you served our community. I pass by the garden everyday and it's looking better and better, plus its a long lasting legacy of our service (Chinatown needs a lot more green space) ;) Pastor Dan just came to pick up the beautiful tiles you made and those who mowed, raked lawns have left a seed in the hearts of those you served too! 'So you are serving for the love of God?" "Yup." Awesome! Members of the community have already expressed their amazement at your involvement and Christian youth who want to make a positive difference!

This Friday (5th) is our Drive-by Prayer night, we want to start at 7pm sharp at church because we will be dividing you into groups and you will get a heart for the different families in our church. You will also leave them a signed note that you prayed for them (that's a HUGE encouragement). Not only will you be lifting our church and its members up in prayer but you will be encouraging them and getting to know the church better as a result. Meet at the church because you will be split into groups and drivers will take teams across different areas of the city - Kanata people may very well be praying for Orleans families. Knock on their doors, leave a card and run! Bring cameras for fun too, I'm excited about this... we still need more drivers and please do your little part in confirming that you are coming as soon as possible (it's a good and very meaningful study break).

The Ouje mission trip is quickly approaching (June 28-July 4), please join us in praying for the Cree youth and the camp as a whole, the team members will be sharing devotions at YF and Sunday school in the following weeks in preparation for the trip. We will be sharing at the combined service this Sunday (7th) and accepting freewill donations from the congregation as the team serves as ushers, fellowship lunch and bakes cupcakes :)

Keep your weekends and weeks free for:
