YF Feeding the Multitudes this Saturday (June 2nd)

Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever.  Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts.  - Psalm 145:2-4   God is so good.  The Spirit was at work in everything, the relationships, the logistics, everything and coffeehouse was incredible.  The Lord can do more than we ask or imagine!  Even the difficulties and misunderstandings have brought us closer as a family.  Many that I talked with were deeply impacted, so please continue the prayer / discussions at school and with your friends.  Pray that coffeehouse would be a huge catalyst in their journey of encountering Jesus.  Praise the Lord that your life has been a testimony to your friends leading up to and following this event.  Be alert and continue to draw close to the Lord and each other.

As part of Rock the River's Community Action Projects, we will join several churches to help feed the multitudes on Saturday, June 2nd (to be sensitive to all the big events we've had, there is no Friday program).  Jesus looked on the multitudes with compassion, taking care of their needs throughout the day. Finally at the end of the day He feeds them.  We will gather with our brothers and sisters from Alliance here at CCCO at 9:20am.  Here we will have some sharing and instructions and then prepare as many lunches as we can to give out in various parts of downtown.   Feel free to invite your friends from coffeehouse to get involved as they will also receive community service hours for taking part.  This is a fantastic opportunity for us to put our faith into action.   If you know of any willing drivers to help transport groups downtown and to Mooney's, please let us know too!

Bring:
- Please bring $5 (or any amount to help offset costs of purchasing the lunches)
- Rain gear as it is forecasted to rain on Saturday.

Our tentative schedule looks like this:
9:20 - 10:00am Sharing and instructions
10 - 11am packing the lunches
Eat a bagged lunch
11am - 2pm handing out food
2pm - make way to Mooney's Bay for celebration barbeque
4pm - event finished.
This Sunday (3rd), we will continue our series on honoring parents & family.  Ouje team we will continue to pray with one another following SS.

Coming up soon:
Relay for Life (8th)
YF Ouje-Bougoumou Mission Trip (June 24th - 30th)

Let us know how we can be praying for you and when you would like to catch up.
See you all on Saturday morning!

YF 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' Coffeehouse this weekend (prep on 25th and event 26th)

The Lord used this passage to convict me last week and I pray that we would all aspire to have this attitude as members of God's family in YF.  Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience.  Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.  Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.  Colossians 3:12-15

That was quick!  It's already that time of year where it's 'Charlie and the Chocolate Factory' Coffeehouse weekend!  This Friday (25th), will be the last day of praying, preparation and dress rehearsal for the 'C&CF' coffeehouse. This Saturday (26th) will be the Coffeehouse, please arrange within each committee what time everyone needs to arrive early on Saturday to prep (food/decor/sound/practice etc.)  Committee heads, please ensure that everything that is needed (props, dress, decorations, instruments, powerpoint, skits, files on USB etc.) will be arranged for Friday night so we can have a full dress rehearsal for Saturday and go through the flow of coffeehouse. Learning to work with one another has always been a part of the goal :)  the YF coffeehouse exists to welcome your friends, be ambassadors of Christ and learning to work together with respect for one another.

A natural followup to Cofeehouse would be to invite your friends to take part in our goal of feeding 5000 or as many people as we can in the Ottawa area on Sat, June 2nd (June 2nd 9:30am - 3pm) !   Your friends will also receive community service hours for taking part (and maybe t-shirts if we have leftovers!)  We hope that we can package some lunches to distribute in our community and surrounding area. Our local food banks face their greatest shortages at this time of year. So we hope that other groups can collect for the food bank as we saw how easy it was to collect wagon fulls the last time we donated to the food bank last month. Afterwards, if you are able, you are invited to Mooney’s Bay to join hundreds of other youth for a BBQ and rally!

On Sunday (27th), we'll continue our series on honoring parents & family.  Ouje mission team: as usual, we'll have a brief time of prayer directly after Sunday School.

Upcoming: Coffeehouse (May 26th) Feeding the 5000 (June 2nd) Relay for Life (June 8th) YF Mission trip to Ouje-Bougoumou (June 24th-June 30th)

Hit 'reply' in your e-mail and tell us how we can be praying for you or if you'd like to meet up in the coming weeks.

Remember that the The YF coffeehouse exists to welcome your friends, be ambassadors of Christ and learning to work together with respect for one another. Sunday we had a great study and discussion on Proverbs 31 and it was fitting to have it on Mother's Day.

This Friday (18th), we'll continue our preparation & prayer for the coffeehouse which will only be eight days from Friday! The upstairs sanctuary and room 202 is booked for YF to use so make sure that each committee is prepared to have everyone involved (crafts/tools/coloring pencils/paints/instruments/props etc.).

Please reserve your Saturday (June 2nd 9:30am - 3pm) (and get your friends in on it too!) for Project Feeding the 5000. We hope that we can package some lunches to distribute in our community and surrounding area. *** There is added blessing for you as well as you get a free t-shirt to wear that day, community service hours, as well as get some cards thanking people for their donations and telling them about Rock the River.

This Sunday (20th), since we've completed our study of Proverbs, we'll begin a new, extremely practical series on Parents & Family. This Sunday we'll narrow our focus to communication.

YF Coffeehouse prayer and prep this Friday (11th)

Had an awesome time at FM 4:19 last weekend, may your life testify to God's grace through speech, love and action. Our famine event with EACO combined for $3200 to provide clean water in the places that need it most, thanks for your participation, food bank contributions, crafts for the community etc. On Sunday we continued our monthly prayer and had time to meet about coffeehouse and ouje afterwards.

This Friday (11th), we'll begin our coffeehouse lead-up with practice/preparation and prayer during the YF nights in anticipation of the coffeehouse event. Each committee whether it be decorations, music, food, mc, program etc. should be prepared in their respective ways for the Fridays to have everyone involved (crafts/tools/coloring pencils/paints/instruments/props etc.). The YF coffeehouse exists to welcome your friends, being ambassadors of Christ and learning to work together with respect for one another. Make sure that everyone involved will be here, with all materials ready to practice/prepare. The basement sanctuary and room 202 is booked for YF to use for music, decor, practice, skits etc.

This Sunday (13th), we'll be continuing our study in Proverbs 31, which is fitting timing wise as it's also Mother's Day. A day to appreciate our mom's who have wiped our noses, cleaned up our vomit, cooked, taught, disciplined us and (hopefully) prayed for us and modeled what it is to love Jesus.

Ouje mission team, we'll have a brief time of prayer directly after Sunday School. May 26th, Coffeehouse is soon approaching! June 2nd (Sat), we'll have our community action project for Rock the River. If you can`t find the time to meet up, tell us how we can be praying for you/your family. see you all on Friday!

YF/PE FM 4:19 this Friday (4th) and Saturday (5th)

Thanks for all who participated in the 30 Hour Famine! Awareness was raised for all 4 issues and you were particularly passionate about safety and clean water. We got to make 60+ encouraging (and beautiful) cards for the senior residence, encouraged them with your visit and donate three wagons full to the Ottawa Food Bank. The final number has not been determined yet as all the forms/donations haven't been returned (please do so this week), but our group will donate the funds to help provide clean water to those that need it most. In Sunday school we had a devotion on idols in our lives then looked at the sayings of Agur in Prov 30, amazed by God's goodness and particularly challenged by his prayer from 7 to 9.

This weekend will be our FM 4:19 event (4th and 5th) at Bethel Pentecostal Church. Please meet at 500 Viewmount Dr around 6:45pm (to counteract Chinese time). Everything about the weekend has been specifically designed (and solely focused) to help jr+sr high students identify and understand the important truths of faith in Christ, draw you closer to Him and give you confidence in articulating the gospel to others! SIGN UP HERE: https://secure.billygraham.ca/rocktheriver/fm419/ let me know as soon as possible).
