30 Hour Famine follow-up and Bible Study

thanks for participating in this year's 30 Hour Famine, you guys were able to do a fantastic job in raising awareness and support to help starving families this year. when we were unloading the canned food to the food bank, we were able to recognize how much you guys actually collected during the impact project because my arms were a little sore afterwards ;). thanks for those who picked up garbage, the prayer walk and making gifts for the seniors! there are still some of you who have yet to return the forms and donations, please find a way to get them to me as soon as possible (friday at the absolute latest). you have already raised a lot more than before!! i am encouraged to see your faith in action and willingness to help serve others, it is a completely selfless act and brings me so much joy to see you all participate so well!

this week, we will be continuing our study of His Word so please bring your Bibles this week and those who have not returned the forms (used and unused) please do so this Friday (at the latest) or if you or your family will be at prayer meeting on wednesday, you can bring it then too! if shelly and i have already asked you to have coffee sometime or something (please take us up on the offer and give us a time that is good for you ;) we would love to meet with you! have a blessed week and see you all on friday!

YF Bible study this Friday

once again, thanks for everyone who is actively participating in the 30 hour famine, we had a great reminder from elaine dewitt during our sunday school class about why this is so important. we have the opportunity to help end this suffering and i believe that many of you are showing the will to make a difference by serving in this way.

this friday we will be studying from His Word again and continuing our study on 1 Peter. thanks for not making much of a mess during the last YF, makes it easier on shelly and i haha, it was a lot of fun though!

remember that CYIA applications are due soon (june 1st) and if you are still considering baptism to get the forms to me as soon as possible! please bring your Bibles this friday, shelly and i are looking forward to seeing you then!

gathering at josh and shelly's

shelly and i want to encourage you and thank everyone for their participation in the discussions in Bible study and sunday school, we can see that some of you are truly seeking Him and want to thank those who are growing and struggling for your honesty.

we realize that it has been Bible study after Bible study so we thought it was time for another gathering (as many of you have suggested) at our apartment, so please invite your friends and feel free to bring snacks to pack out the place like the last couple of times. i'm sure that most of you remember where it is but just in case, here is the address again.

30 HOUR FAMINE forms were given out on friday and we hunted some of you down on sunday too, if you don't have forms and want to participate in our may 25th-26th event with eaco, ocac and ocbc then ask me for forms RIGHT away so you can start fundraising, remember we aimed to each raise enough for a child and family to eat for one full year. also remember if you want to hang out, need prayer or someone to talk to, let us know, we love meeting up with you guys!! see you on friday!!! blessings.

30 Hour Famine details and OMF this Friday

this friday, we have the awesome opportunity to hear from a family (with 3 teenagers) who have served in Japan for 21 years with OMF (overseas missionary fellowship). they will be sharing testimonies and pictures of their experiences as missionaries. it's always awesome and encouraging to hear from brothers and sisters who have surrendered their lives for His service! feel free to ask questions!

afterwards, we will also begin our 30 hour famine process of fundraising! i have the materials and donation sheets prepared to give to each one of you. this is truly an exciting ministry to be a part of and i am excited that YF will be serving in this way and helping so many families! please don't lose your donation sheets as they are VERY important and i will have to keep track of each sheet and number corresponding to it. we will talk more about the famine together on friday as well! if you wanted to meet with shelly and i this week too, let us know!!! we'll see you all on friday!
