rock groups this friday

wanted to say thanks for having wonderful seventeenth birthday celebrations for manson and ayaka and for participating and listening during the Bible study on ecclesiastes last friday. it was a good time to reflect on the vanity of life apart from God and to avoid meaningless lives full of selfish ambition, greed, power and lust.

this friday is rock groups, the east group will meet at jeremy's house at 1823 Carrigan Dr in orleans [detailed map], caleb hasn't let me know which house the west group has settled on, but i will post it immediately when i find out. i will e-mail you all shortly about who is in which rock group (east and central are combined), most of you already know this from the meeting we had earlier. big thanks to the people who are opening up their homes for rock groups, perhaps those going to the west and east homes can bring some snacks or drinks from home to share with one another. we have been focusing alot on fellowship and encouragement, this friday the rock groups will focus on sharpening one another.

update the west group will be meeting at natasha's house (kanata, near centrum) [detailed directions]

english cookoff aftermath, yf this friday and ccco-ok download

first of all, i want to say how proud i am of all of you for an awesome showing at the cook off this year. the skit was fantastic, the food was great and the table looked sweet! everyone worked as a team and there were plenty of laughs during the skit (well written and available for download here, thanks to elysia and those in the skit team). we got second place in the amazing race sub-event prior to the cookoff (thanks to the yf's speedy race team) and i put our snowman award in my office as a constant reminder of the yf's success this year *sniffle*.

thanks for everyone's involvement, the dessert, appetizers, main course, costumes, decorations, skit team, those involved in the skit, amazing race squad and everyone who brought stuff from home, there was alot of work for this cook-off and you all managed to pull it together ;), i've asked natasha, hongyi and roger (event organizer) to send me the pictures and/or videos and i will upload them as soon as i get them. stay tuned.

this friday we will have Bible study at the church, i will send you guys an e-mail soon with more details, but rock groups will be next Friday, remember to decide on a place as soon as possible and let me know (jeremy from East and caleb from west) please let me know soon.

the fall youth retreat reflections and the entire ccco-k is available for download in this spiffy pdf version on the church website here. if you didn't manage to get your hands on the printed version, here is a digital copy for safe-keeping.

also, big thanks to everyone who sent me well-wishes last week and prayed for me last week while i was sick, it was a hard week filled with meetings, cookoff and leading worship, but God was faithful as always... you peeps are great! let me know how you are and see you friday!

this friday and the iron chef

thanks for all paying attention at sunday school this week! well, the week has come, all this time and planning for iron chef will have to come together on saturday, but first we will gather on friday to make last minute preparations for iron chef and skit practice. everyone whom i have given leadership responsibilities please have everything prepared by friday (you should have bought ingredients, ensure that everything needed to prepare (cook) dishes is available (remember we need to prepare food for at least 25 people and the church kitchen may not be available to us), and all is set to go. everything should be ready when we discuss on friday, but then we will go through last minute details and the skit practices. everyone should read the rules and regulations which i have uploaded. you've heard most of this before as i have been e-mailing you guys over the last three weeks about it, but this week is where the rubber is hitting the road ;). blessings and see you on friday, questions e-mail me.
