h2o / YF Gala on New Year's Eve (31st)
shelly and i sent you all an e-mail saying thanks for everything!!! also just wanted to remind everyone too that there is no YF on the 28th (i encourage you to spend it with family!) and the Gala is coming up soon (Monday)!!! please please respond to the eVite because food preparations need to start etc. stephanie sent out an e-mail to everyone about decorations and food, if you can help decorate, please plan to stay behind after church this sunday (30th) to help decorate! if you can help with food, please respond to the email too. i know shelly is cooking a few turkeys, so she could probably use some hands in the kitchen ;)
if you are interested to join us for the leadership retreat on january 2nd - 3rd. please let me know as soon as possible, i know a handful of you are already attending. it's free! with food and everything, just bring Bible and sleeping bags.
YF/PE Christmas party at Jessica's house this Friday
thank you for joining us at 118 last night to study for our study of His Word from Jude last friday! after a couple of months in hebrews, it was nice to finish a book in one study ;)
this friday (21st) will be our annual Christmas party! this year, the Leung family (jessica's family) has been hospitable enough to open up their home for us. our younger brothers and sisters from pure energy will be joining us this friday.
we will also be exchanging gifts this year! please bring a gift, anywhere from $5 to no more than $10. gifts will be exchanged (secret santa style) as usual. please bring a gift, games and friends to join us for this year's Christmas party at jessica's house. directions to her house can be found here: [

many of you have already said you will be attending the Gala on the 31st, but please respond ASAP to the eVite that was e-mailed to you (it ONLY takes a click). a lot of work goes into the gala and we need a confirmation of attendees to make the right preparations (food etc.)
there is also a leadership retreat planned for january 2nd to 3rd, food is provided. a group of youth are already attending, if you are interested please let me know as soon as possible. see you this friday!
YF Bible study this Friday
thanks for joining us last friday at 118, it was fun to have some "practice" for our YMCA sharing, play some games and run through some ideas for the Christmas skit. we also handed out a lot of yf/h2o gala invitations for december 31st. our sister steph hand made many of the invitations with some help from our brother chung. we handed out many invitations during YF sunday school and service. (i'll e-mail you guys who still have invitations). these invitations took a lot of time and work so please RSVP to them as soon as you can and do your best to come in your finest and bring a guest.)
this friday we will be studying His Word. we've finally finished hebrews, so please bring your Bibles. the next week (21st) we will have our YF/Pure Energy Christmas party at our sister jessica's home. the Leung family has graciously opened their home to our groups for the night and we will have a small gift exchange and games in the comfort of their home. looking forward to seeing you this friday at church!
YF gathering this Friday, pot-luck Saturday (Getaway dates)
it was great to finish the book of hebrews last week, we've covered a lot of Scripture in YF this year, please allow what you know from His Word transform you and show through your daily life.
this friday, i hope to gather in the upstairs of 118 Empress (next door to church) for a time of games and fellowship. please bring some games, friends and snacks, those who have committed to coming to the pot-luck on saturday can practice in one of the rooms next door. the pot-luck on saturday starts at 5pm and YF, pure energy and h2o are asked to bring an appetizer, salad or dessert dish.
you will be receiving invitations to the YF/h2o Christmas Gala soon and please reply to those as soon as you can because lots of awesome food, decorations and plans will be made for you for new years eve (31st). i'm still looking for a house for a YF/PE christmas party on friday december 21st, i'll keep asking around, but if your home may be an option please let me know. pastor shawn, pastor dave, pastor dan and i have been meeting for a little while now and have now confirmed that the 2008 YF Getaway retreat will be from march 14-16th (the last weekend of march break) please mark that on your calendars and begin praying for the getaway. we will have a student leadership meeting on january 6th following church at ocac. hope you guys are having a great week and see you this friday!
