enchanted movie night this friday at josh and shelly's
thanks for supporting christian children's fund this weekend, not only did you raise money but also the fact that you fasted in support and did some great community work as well. it was encouraging to see you hand out like 200 drinks to the community, collect loads of food for the food bank, make origami, pick up trash and pray for the community and the world. thanks for the beautiful birthday cards too. i wake up every morning and get freaked out every time i look in the mirror... my hair covered my weird shaped head, my head is always itchy now too.
we haven't been to our apartment in over half a year so shelly and i are glad to have the YF over this friday for 'enchanted' some of the girls mentioned it awhile ago and suggested it for a movie night, it's supposed to be
really good. please arrive shortly after 7-7:15pm as we will start the movie by 7:30pm. you can be picked up around 9:30 - 10pm. if you are able, please bring some snacks and beverages for everyone to enjoy! most should be familiar with how to get here but here are the directions in case:
directions. also, please try to be real quiet in the hallways and elevators... we don't want to be evicted, we need a home ;)
for those coming on the mission trip next month, please continue the planning for devotions, games and crafts. i'll update those of you who couldn't come to our meeting at impact. also for those still thinking of baptism as your next step in your faith, please talk to me soon! we'll see you this friday!
YF OCYM (awesome) Impact this Weekend
this week is our OCYM or 'awesome' Impact weekend! as mentioned before the purpose of this event is to gather all our churches together and for you all to impact Ottawa and the world in tangible ways. like every other year, please refrain from eating for 30 hours (from 12pm on friday (23rd) to 6pm on saturday (24th). try your best to eat lunch prior to noon on friday. all the money that you have been raising will go towards
Christian Children’s Fund of Canada.
like last year, we will also be doing community service projects on saturday afternoon. we will be meeting at 7pm friday night at OCBC (
directions) and you can be picked up at 7pm saturday night. there will be a dinner at 6 pm on saturday evening, please bring $3 to offset the costs for dinner.

- dress for the community service weather/activities

YF Bible study this Friday
it was awesome to see so many of you at unified last week. it was really encouraging to hear testimonies from manson, ruby and brian. to see God transforming lives is always awesome to see. He never gives up on any of us. if you have any questions about God and what He's done in our lives (whether manson, myself, people in YF) never hesitate to ask, always know that we are willing to listen.
for yf this week, we are continuing our study on acts. we will be taking a closer look at chapters 15 and 16 this week, so please bring your Bibles as we read and discuss these two chapters.
in the meantime, please continue to pray about all the exciting opportunities coming up! for the mission trip in northern quebec, we have a better idea of some of the responsibilities entailed for the june 23-28 trip. i have many names that are interested, please let me know as soon as possible so we can arrange training, lodging and transportation. we also have baptism opportunities this summer, i've heard from a couple of you already! please let me know so we can arrange baptism classes. if possible if you can free up some time in july to help out with work for our potential youth room too, we will need quite a few of us working on it, i'm excited at the possibility of having the room finished before discipleship week ;)
we still have a couple of weeks to fundraise for project impact (23-24), we've ran out of forms (only had enough for 20 of you) but we made some more copies last sunday and if you still don't have them i can give you some on friday as well.
but yeah, hopefully you can pray about these opportunities!

Unified this Friday at EACO
this friday night will be a unified time of worship through music, prayer and testimony. this event will bring together our getaway churches and perhaps more! as you already know, your generation is the future of the church and our prayer is that your generation will change the church and the world. students have put lots of preparation into this event and it will include a time of testimony where you will see familiar faces. please commit to coming (note: its 7pm not 7:30pm) on time as it will be a great time of fellowship and being together. it is at EACO (4 thorncliff place,

also, the short term summer mission trip is still planned for june 23rd to the 27th. i'm still working out details with the pastor in northern quebec as well as one in newmarket ontario. please let me know immediately if you are interested in this trip so your parents can be informed right away. i have eric, jeff, jen, nat, neva, val and winston that have planned for it thus far. i've provided more details in your e-mail. see you this friday at EACO!
