YF Grad sendoff this Friday (Where's Waldo and Fall Retreat forms!)

I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed Discipleship Week (as a teacher, don't know if you enjoyed it as students haha), but it's always an awesome week to spend with you guys and see you everyday! Even with so many people out of town, we still had a lot of you committed to show up everyday and bus etc. Please keep in mind/heart everything you learned and witnessed throughout the week. This week's service days were also really special experiences! With people staying behind and stuff, we probably spent a good 25-30 hours together last week! The mission and OIM send their thanks and it was really nice of them to accomodate us and share about their ministry as well. Don't let that week just fade in your memories, but apply what you are learning and stay in God's Word - in fact read it now :)

This Friday (28th) will be the YF Grad sendoff at Jocelyn and Hillary's house. In Jocelyn's e-mail, she's opened up her home from 5:30pm until 9:30pm. It's going to be POTLUCK, so it means everyone will bring a little something to contribute (please RSVP in that previous thread so everyone doesn't bring the same thing). Her Dad shared that he doesn't mind grilling if you are bringing meat. Directions are in your e-mail. The grads will also take some time (5 minutes each) to share with us what is on their hearts and we will pray for them at the end as well! If you have any meaningful encouragements for them, tell them that night :)

Also, the Where's Waldo YF Kickoff is coming up on Saturday, September 5th from 9:45am - 1:30/2pm. It'll be really fun and invite AS many friends as you can, just let me know so I can buy enough Pizza and stuff. Also YF Fall Retreat forms are past due, but GET them in (or let me know before Wednesday ASAP)! ;)

See you this Friday at the Ma residence! :)

YF Guys/Girls night this week (Discipleship week and Fall Retreat)

Thanks for sharing in our joy last week with the news and all! :) Also remember to always thank uncle Alex and auntie Angie for being sweet uncle/aunties for treating us to tons of food and a place to hang out!

This week will be guys/girls night!
The girls will be meeting at Neva's for what I understand is a girly night of facials and stuffs and may be a sleepover as well. Updates, times and details will be sent to the girls by Neva.

As for the guys, the original plan was go-karting but it turned out to be outrageously expensive (even at group rates) for very short time periods. So we decided that we would meet at the church at 6:30pm on Friday (August 14th) (please eat a small dinner in advance), Jeff is going to bring his deep fryer and we'll be having some 'deep fried snacks and veggies', snacks as well as watching a movie on the big screen.

NEXT WEEK FROM Monday to Friday (Aug 17-21) (9:30am to 12 noon each day) will be Discipleship Week: Reading and Living out the Bible.
Bring your Bible, pens (PREFERABLY buy a four color pen, you'll see.. they are awesome) and get the attached letter signed by your parents for our service projects. Please make a commitment to be regular and to do all the brief homework that's assigned.

FALL RETREAT is coming up quick on September 11th - 13th. Attached you will find the form that HAS TO BE FILLED OUT AND RETURNED AS SOON AS POSSIBLE as we need forms back in two Sundays (23rd). Rae-anne suggested a really cool idea and we will take the train to Montreal so we don't have to have a lot of volunteer drivers... plus the train is just fun :) But to get the group rate, registrations are strict. If you are out of town (ie. Wardrer and Wilson) until past that date, just confirm your intention and we will book the tickets for you. Rae-Anne's parent's lake-side house is going to be a lot of fun too, motor boats, swimming, all the good stuffs :)

YF KICKOFF (spiritual and event) are coming up quick too, please be mindful to invite friends to WHERE'S WALDO on Saturday morning (September 5th).

Let us know how we can pray for you or if you are able to meet up :)
See you this Friday! (for the girls, whenever you are meeting!)

YF at the Yip's on Friday!

Last Friday was really a meaningful time of sharing with our brothers and sisters from h2o. It was great that we could divide into groups so that everyone could have their voices heard. I've already shared our hopes/dreams (our findings are in the e-mail) to Pastor Francis and to the English congregation and I think a video team is already putting together a video of our uncles and aunties that have served the church for many years about what they do and if they are willing to mentor someone :) It was also a fun time of games, food, fellowship and to pray together as well.

This Friday (Aug 7th)
we are meeting at the Yip house (Michael, Eric and Rachel's house!) at 6pm (I think you can arrive a bit earlier, Michael can confirm this) for some of auntie Angie's famous cooking! They live at (in e-mail) in Orleans, directions in e-mail. Please do your best to car pool and bring your board games, wii-motes, card games etc. We will also have a time of prayer in small groups at the end of the evening.

I'm still preparing for Discipleship week which is coming up really soon (Aug 17-21)! VBS is next week (WOAH!) so those who are helping should attend all the training and CAPPP sessions necessary. Then it's guys/girls night on the 14th (I think the girls will be doing facials at Neva's) etc. Aug 17-21 YF Discipleship week: Reading and Living God's Word. *Aug 20th Grad sendoff *Sep 5 YF "Where's Waldo?" kickoff * Sep 11-13 YF Fall Retreat.
