YF Bible study
thanks for the fun at andrew haydon on friday, james has several pictures from his camera but i can't access the link he gave me, so we will have to wait on those. yf will be Bible study this friday, frederick has kindly volunteered to teach you guys while i am standing as best man at jesse and heidi's wedding this weekend. please give him the great attention you gave me the last study.
it has been brought to my attention that petrie island has water warnings and for the concern of your health, the event and or location may be changed (aug.12th), check here for updates. also helpers are needed for the summer children's retreat from the 25th-27th.
discipleship week will conflict with the 25th, but if you are able to help on the 26th let me know, it will be at ottawa valley pentecostal camp, so you can spend some time there before we go there sept 15-17th ;) blessings on you all!
discipleship week
august 21st - 25th 9:30am - 12:00pmThis week is intended to focus on discipleship and the spiritual growth of each youth that attends. A study of the Greatest Commandment will serve as the foundation for a life wholly devoted to Jesus who is both LORD and Savior. Careful attention will be devoted to what the greatest commandment requires of the believer, true obedience depends on one’s love for God, if one loves Him, he/she will obey His commands. The spiritual formation will be essential; the focus will be placed on prayer as an essential spiritual discipline to keep one’s relationship to Christ central. The intent is that at the end of the course the student will understand the marks of a Christian, loving the Lord and living a life that is completely devoted and surrendered to Him. By loving God, they will love their neighbors as a result, leading by example and inviting others to embark on a spiritual pilgrimage to God.
i am praying that each of you will treat this seriously, faithfully attending each class, opportunities to serve and completing the homework activities each day.

thank you for bowling and fellowship on friday, it was alot of fun! thanks for the encouraging emails too! also want to thank jeremy and ivan for leading worship for us on friday, they both (like james, manson and yue before) practiced together before yf, so thanks for your service guys!! (the title of this post is a lesson that my group learned during bowling, isn't that right valerie? ;) the games and canoes were alot of fun at the picnic on saturday too.
you may remember andrew haydon park from last year, we had ccco's outdoor worship service at the kiwanis bandshell (pictured in the link below). this friday we will meet (2pm) at the bandshell in
andrew haydon park. [

plan your trip on the octranspo here), its really easy - just enter a starting address and ending (3169 carling ave) and it will tell you how to get there (props to jeremy for showing me this). bring a snack (or lunch) we can have a picnic or something, sunscreen, baseball gloves, frisbees, footballs, soccer, whatever you want! you can leave andrew haydon anytime, i will plan to leave around 6pm, if you decide to stay longer than maybe we could all hang out someplace?

fall youth retreat
just a heads up, the retreat will be on the sept. 15-17th weekend, (we NEED 25 people!) so keep that open!! also please ask your parents if they would volunteer to travel, it will be at
ottawa valley pentecostal camp again (a familiar place) canoes, campfires and more, oh my! see you guys tomorrow, remember to meet AT the
bowling centre 7:00pm sharp!! find me inside if you are late. $8.50 and 2 bus tickets as we will go directly to ivan's following the bowling for some worship and friendship! remember to give me your forms too! thanks for emailing me prayer requests too, i'll get back to you asap!! please pray for me too if you think of it ;)

pleasantries to you all! just wanted to first of all say thank you to everyone for paying so much attention to the Bible study on friday!! it encouraged me a lot and i hope and pray that you prayerfully considered what was learned that night (pastor david nguyen said alot of the same stuff on sunday didn't he? that worked out well). also - big up's to james, yue, manson (and jlam) for leading us in worship too!
so ivan and his folks are cool with letting us use their place after bowling at
merivale bowling centre [a
detailed map - bowling to get there] it will be glow in the dark, so try and wear white clothing, (the last time i wore non-white clothing it looked like i had dandruff, so you want to avoid that) please arrive (on time!) at the front entrance by 7:00pm, i will enter the place at 7:15pm, you must find me if you come late, please bring $8.50 for bowling and two bus tickets to get to ivan's. we will have some worship time at ivan's with ivan and jeremy, ask your parents to pick you up from ivan's [

summer release form for your parents to sign (if you are under 18) and bring it to me on friday.
discipleship week has been moved to august 21st - 25th, so i'll be back to spend time with you guys ;). it was a very edifying week last year and i am looking forward to it again. please make the time to read the Word and focus on Him this week. see you guys on friday at merivale!
the cry at parliament hill
just wanted to shout out
the cry at parliament hill this saturday, thousands of believers from all over the country will be there for worship and to pray for our country. the

h2o, you'll be in good hands after the graduation bbq (aug 25) at the
end of the summer of course ;) please bring a prayerful heart (and your Bibles) for a time of worship and study of His Word.
YF Bible Study
bonjour mes amis, yf worship teams will be back! this week james (guitar), yue (drums) and manson (piano) have volunteered to serve and lead us in worship this friday prior to getting into God's Word. also many of you have been asking about my most recent time in China; i wanted to share some pictures and testimonies of His faithfulness with you for quite some time so i'd like to share that with you!!! (tell me about your life this year too, thanks for all who have already!) and then we will have a Bible study on "knowing and obeying God's will" it will be a very personal and hopefully a forming Bible study.
an additional note is that as we discussed, since we all want to have the fall retreat i have been in contact with
camp galilee,
ottawa valley pentecostal camp, and
gracefield. ill be praying for you guys and am excited to see you all on friday!

welcome to the squeaky new website for the youth fellowship! you can find out more about the events happening each week, updates on the schedule and pictures of events.
there will be some cool features:
- peep the shoutbox down there and leave messages for each other (and me!) during the week!
- send me some pictures (hopefully with 3 or more people) of good times at yf or during the week and ill do my best to post them.
- instead of forwarding emails to newcomers you can just click that e-mail post button to email them the information.

that picture i posted is just a fun lego picture from judges (when samson kills the lion) but there are tons of cool stories at the brick testament, like many of exciting (but unknown) stories in the Bible that we discussed in the last two Bible studies like the stoning of Achan, noah's insobriety, balaam's talking donkey and even the story of dinah.
